New Miss St. Brelade
by Jeff Hathaway
WITH notable successes in the last two parades, The St. Brelade Battle of Flowers Association are hoping to pick up one of the top honours in the 2011 'Battle'.
Eddie Le Gros and his team have been busy since early January with preparations for this year and are well avanced with their entry entitled 'Take Me To Heaven' this being the 45th year the Parish has entered a float.
The year started in traditonal fashion with the Miss St. Brelade Competition. Six gorgeous girls from the Parish allowed their names to go forward to be presented by Chris Stone of BBC Radio Jersey, to the panel of judges, Nathalie Taylor, Margrit Barnes and Deputy Montfort Tadier who had to make the difficult decision as to who should be selected to represent the Parish this year.
At the dinner event, organised by the ever versatile Eddie Le Gros and the members of the Battle of Flowers Association, the winner was announced and saw Constable Jackson crowning the lovely Ellie Stannard (above) as Miss St. Brelade 2011 with Amy O'Brian being the runner up.
