Fete raises £2,000+
Summer Fete raises £2,000+
“A huge thank you to everyone who supported Maison St. Brelade fete” says Pearl Thebault
by Jeff Hathaway

The weather was just perfect for the Maison St. Brelade Summer Fete held on Sunday 8th September. It was opened at noon by David Gainsborough-Roberts and by mid-afternoon it had attracted a large crowd of people who were able to browse amongst the many stalls, take afternoon tea and cake on the patio - or even treat themselves to a burger! Raymondo provided the music in the courtyard to add to the wonderful atmosphere.
The raffle attracted a steady stream of ticket purchasers. Director, Pearl Thebault, was very ably assisted by Edith, one of Maison St. Brelade’s oldest residents (pictured opposite).
Vivian Power, wife of Deputy Sean Power and Mary Langlois wife of Reg Langlois of Reg’s Garden fame, provided cakes for the cake stall, and there many other generous donations too from both businesses and individuals.
First prize in the raffle was two return tickets to Guernsey and 2 nights at the Duke of Richmond Hotel courtesy of Blue Islands. “I am delighted that it was won one of our residents - Mrs Marjorie d’Allain. ” Pearl said.
“The stalls were manned by the residents themselves, volunteers and staff - and importantly everyone enjoyed themselves. This year we have raised approximately £2,200. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to support the fete, which is now a firm annual event that everyone looks forward to”
