Merry Christmas everyone
and a happy new year from the
La Baguette team
Well, La Baguette has got off to a cracking start! From the comments, letters, emails and even cards we have received it is clear that a parish newsletter has been long overdue.
We would like to thank everyone for their positive response, support and encouragement. In particular the La Baguette team would like to thank our parish business community, both large and small, who have given their generous support through advertising with us. Importantly, the newsletter is entirely funded by this support - not from your rates.
Please keep your letters, comments and suggestions coming.
As the logistics of compiling the newsletter, even at its current size, is no small task, and postal costs restrict its size, the committee decided that La Baguette should also have a website.
We are grateful to parish-based Offshore Internet Services for providing both their expertise and hosting facilities. We hope you like it, but would again welcome any comments and suggestions you may have.
If you would prefer NOT to receive a printed copy of La Baguette but to visit the website for a downloadable version, there is a postal ‘opt-out’ form on the website. This will ensure you will be deleted from the mailing list.
La Baguette has five new team members: Anne May, Ann Pallett, Rev. Judith Davey, Denise Waller, and Wayne Maloret who have volunteered to undertake a variety of tasks to assist in the production of the newsletter.
We would like to hear from anyone who would be prepared to give up just a couple of hours each month the help us collect stories or follow up on enquiries. We would be particularly pleased to receive help to ‘stuff’ envelopes for mailing, and volunteers to organise hand distribution (to allow us to save on postal costs - our main expense) - or anyone else who can offer help or expertise in any way.
The La Baguette team would like to take this opportunity to wish every ‘St Breladais’ a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Prosperous New Year. See you in 2008!
