Former St. Brelade Officer joins States force.
by Geoff Cornwall
On 12th May C.O. Richard Stent and myself were honoured to attend the Passing Out Parade for the latest group of 17 new States of Jersey Police Constables held at the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society showground in Trinity.
We were there as the invited guests of P.C. Joao Carvalho who had just completed his initial training.
Joao (generally known as John) was, until early this year, a valued member of the St. Brelade Honorary Police and is already missed as a very reliable colleague.
I was delighted to have Joao as one of my officers. He was always willing, keen to learn and very quickly demonstrated his potential as a full time police officer. We were very sorry to see him leave but we all wish him well. I'm quite certain that he will make a superb professional officer. I am glad that we were able to give him a good grounding. He will certainly have a very clear understanding of the Honorary Police. Our loss is certainly the States of Jersey Police's gain.
