New chairman for Association
Eddie Le Gros retires as chairman of
St. Brelade Battle of Flowers Association.

By Karen Bougeard

Hello everyone I am Karen Bougeard. I have taken over the chair of the Association following Eddie Le Gros’ decision to stand down following ill-health. This came at a crucial time which resulted in us being unable to enter a float this year. Eddie has served us so well for the past 9 years as chairman, so we count ourselves lucky that he has agreed to still help us, and will be staying on as Vice-Chairman. On behalf of the Association I would like to take this opportunity to thank Eddie for his hard work over the years.
The St Brelade Battle of Flowers Association has been running for about 20 years although goes back much further than that. We have entered a float most years, this year and when our shed was being built, being the main exceptions. The Juniors did however enter a float, and we would like to thank everyone for their generous donations which helped our them enter their ‘’Pirate Ship’ which went down very well. They did us proud taking part in both Parades. The Juniors will be on show again at the Christmas Parade which takes place on Thursday 13th of December - so come along and give us a wave!
Volunteers are always welcome and needed all year round as next years float is already planned and we need to raise funds to get it down to Victoria Avenue. If you can build, stick a flower, sew, make a cup of tea , sell trash as treasure or just give a few hours to fundraise we would love to meet you.
I can be contacted by tel. on 867764 or by email karenbougeard@hotmail.com
Hopefully our website will be up and running with more info soon. If you are passing the shed during the week try the door, someone may be there to make you a cup of tea and give you more details. The shed is located at the top of Mont a La Brune next to the Parish depot. This is the place where all the float building takes place and a lot of the fund raising is masterminded.
