Miss St. Brelade
Aimee Mezec crowned Miss St. Brelade
by Mike Jackson
The 16th May saw the spectacle of the competition to become Miss St.Brelade 2008.
Masterminded as usual by the Doyenne of this Parish event, Jenny Anfrey, six of the most beautiful girls of the Parish allowed their names to go forward and be ‘grilled’ by compere Deputy Sean Power, and be judged by experts Vivian Power, Karen Bougeard and Adrian Rivett.
A light supper was prepared by maestro chef Julian Bernstein. After, those present had been suitably nourished, the parade began in earnest.
Kadee O’Byrne, Rebecca Grindheim, Aimee Mezec, Ngaio Miller, Jennifer Morris and Kate Williams were the entrants. They were all extremely attractive and the judges had an extremely difficult decision to make. We thank and admire them all for having the courage to present themselves.
After a few nerve racking moments the girls were brought out and it was announced that Aimee Mezec would be Miss St.Brelade 2008 with Kadee O’Byrne as her Maid of Honour.
Aimee was placed in the ‘Throne’ and crowned by Connétable Mike Jackson.
We look forward to seeing her around the Parish during the course of the year and especially accompanying our float at the Battle of Flowers.
